I started today with a lot of things on my to do list. How do you deal with an overwhelming day? Yes, I agree that life can be demanding, but I also know that it is easy to slide into negative thoughts with so much to do and be.

It is ok to have bad experiences, but you have to be cautious enough to control the negative emotions that are generated as a result so that your mind doesn’t feed on them.

It is a given that we all have stressful days, but how do you handle them when they come?

I know that, for most people it’s easy to let the stress get out of hand, And when this happens, they feel like they have no way out of the cycle.

The more stressed you are, the more negative your thoughts will become, and the worse things will seem. Negative thinking can quickly spiral into depression if left unchecked. This is why learning how to manage your emotions during difficult times is so important!


Figure Out Who You Are And What You Need To Focus On.

What are you focusing on?

Life is stressful, and to be victorious you must stay focused on where you’re going in life. So, I have figured the best strategy is to always remember who I am and what I want in life.

You may struggle to understand this because you are dealing with a lot of pressure, and it can be hard to keep your head above water. But if you don’t learn how to deal with the stress in healthy ways, then you could end up feeling continous overwhelm or even depression.

The good news is that there are things you can do to help manage your stress levels, so that they don't impact your life negatively. 

There are many different ways to cope with stress and anxiety in our lives including meditation, exercise, hobbies etc., but one thing that has really helped me personally was creating a plan ahead of time for what I will do if something goes wrong or something doesn’t go as planned on any given day.

Having a plan or something like a guide, makes it much less likely that you will get overwhelmed by whatever happens because you already know what might or might not happen.

This is why I talk about FOCUS.

It is easy to get overwhelmed by the bad news, but it doesn’t have to be this way. The world has a lot of problems and sometimes you feel like there is nothing you can do about them.

Don’t focus on the negative thoughts. It is OK to acknowledge how it makes you feel but move your thoughts away by focusing on what is true, right, and of value to you.

With so much overwhelm around me, I am asking myself questions like

  1. Is this how your creator wants you to feel?
  2. Do you believe that there is a greater someone that cares for you?
  3. Do you believe that you are more valuable than the birds of the air?

You have to control your negative emotions first, and then decide on the actions to take to move you one step forward and away from your current situation. 

Worrying will not help in this situation, because worrying will not add a single hour to your life... Or what do you think?

Right now, I feel so much joy, and almost done with everything on my list (2 items left). But all I can say is I’m grateful and full.

Start taking action towards living the life that you want. You don’t need to worry about what other people think anymore – It’s your life. At the end of the day, you will be the one dealing with the consequences.
