childhood experience

What childhood experiences are you comfortable with?

What were your childhood experiences like? What were the circumstances around your birth that may be influencing the way you do things? What were the decisions your family and friends around you made when you were less than 8years old?

Our childhood experiences are shaping our lives in ways we may not even realize. Each of us has a unique set of pathways based on how we were raised, the events that happened to us, and the choices we made. While some of this information may not be on memory or on record, it forms a big role in the formation of patterns in your brain.

Your brain consists of neurons that form pathways based on feelings. So certain chemicals are ignited by happy chemicals, for example when you asked for a toy and you were given as a child, your brain connects happy moments with asking.

On the other hand, if as a young child you had a scary experience because you visited a certain neighborhood, your brain registers that neighborhood as evil.

So, each time you have an experience your senses will trigger a flow of chemicals in your brain, and your brain will make every effort to prevent bad experiences. Your brain always finds the path of least resistance.

Most times we only know about this information from what was told us by our parents. But as a mindset coach, I have come to learn that we can renew our mind about the beliefs our parents had before our birth, by observing the experiences of the people similar to them and those they consciously connect with.

what is guiding your life

Is your childhood experience guiding your life?

People seem to be comfortable with people that look like them. But wait a minute, why are we talking about childhood experiences? Because your life is following a pattern that started while you were a child, or even before you were born.

And most of the decisions that you make, are based on what you have believed and expect to be true. Your brain will seek to do more of what made you feel good.

So, everyone has millions of pathways in their brain, through which they create meaning in their lives, and most often when we take a look at the direction and design of the pathway that is controlling our lives, we will discover that it is not what we want.

But we let it control us anyway! Because truth is, you cannot notice your blind spot, someone else has to.

Well, you may say, I will just ignore it….

Let me stop you right there, your brain was created to store experiences not delete them.

Now we are in the computer age, at least you understand a little bit of how computers work. So let’s say you have a virus in your system, can you just ignore it and continue working efficiently with the computer?

You know as much as I do that the answer is NO. So, because your childhood negative experiences might be leading your life, it is important to check what they are and change them if they are not what you want.

never too late

It is never too late to change your childhood experience

What negative childhood experiences are you c comfortable with that are misguiding your life? You can start afresh, despite your age, you can create something different from the start.

It is important to talk about this function of the brain because according to science, other nerves connect the brain through the spinal cord to control personality, senses, and body functions from breathing to walking. And together the brain, the spinal cord, and nerves form the central nervous system.

So, the brain is like the main river that supplies every other part of the body, no matter how many hours you spend in the gym, if your brain does not believe in your choice, you will not get the result that you seek.

No matter the strategy you devise, it will be thwarted except your brain aligns with it. I am not sharing this to make you afraid, instead, I want you to know that your brain is like plastic material and it can be reprogramed to believe new things.

So do not accept in your heart that your past and experiences are who you are. Do not blame it on your parents, do not lose hope also. Instead, you should start to regard yourself as a creator, able to turn your life around. You should not be afraid of your past, but plan for your future.

First, start by getting clear on what that mental block is and set out to turn your life around with a clear vision. Nothing happens by chance; you have to make an intentional choice to change the pathway wiring of your brain. What will you want to do today?

You’re not as successful in life as you want to be. Your parents always told you that you couldn’t do it, and now your mind is programmed with negative thoughts about yourself. Imagine having a renewed sense of confidence and self-worth, knowing that anything is possible for you if you put your mind to it.

Childhood experiences can have a lasting impact on our lives, but they don’t have to limit us from achieving the things we truly desire. We can renew our minds by opening ourselves up to new possibilities and believing in ourselves again!

By making intentional choices about your life each day you can change your brain’s wiring for the better — which means feeling happier more often! Learn how to choose positive thoughts and actions so you can feel great every single day.
