Are you resisting help?
What you don’t know, you don’t know and what you don’t understand, you don’t understand. In this unprecedented time of difficulty that we face in the world right now, it is now more important than before, to seek understanding of what you are doing every day of your life, and consciously ask yourself reflective questions like
- Is this going to help me achieve the goal that I seek?
- What else is out there that I do not know about?
- Who can I go to for help?
- What do I need understanding for today?
Choose to know yourself, so that you can grow yourself. Nothing just happens and understanding is not automatic. I want you to know that no guilt or shame is greater than God’s love.
He wants you to intentionally build and create your life and family so that you can have full access to all that he has planned for you. Whether in your relationship, career, health, It is important to seek to understand what you may be doing today that may be resisting God’s help and light.
In my coaching experience with my clients, I have come to recognize so many limiting beliefs that originate from childhood experiences, that can hold a very smart and intelligent person like yourself back. Thoughts like
- I must work really hard to achieve any success in life
- Mistake and failure are bad
- I am not capable
Most times thoughts like these are stumbling blocks to your personal development and growth. They create a resistance to try something new, and until you challenge these beliefs you cannot be a full expression of yourself.
Whatever the resistance is, in your life today, I like you to know that, it’s not your destiny, because you were created for a purpose and you have a chance today, to seek to understand all that you are and all that you are by accepting help from a higher power.
How does a Christian seek to understand?
Understanding starts with your heart and not personal effort. In Stephen Covey’s book, the 7 habits of highly successful people, understanding the other person’s perspective will help them understand you.
Seeking real understanding affirms the other person and what they have to say. And because everybody wants what they want, you have to be intentional and authentic, from your heart.
So it’s not what you do, but how you listen, and what you perceive. You must have a clear purpose for everything you do.
To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to me (unless they are the offering of the heart) says the Lord. I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed beasts (without obedience) and I do not delight in the blood of bulls or of lambs or of he-goats (without righteousness. Isaiah 1:11.
Don’t give up on God. Don’t abandon his call to you now, because when you don’t listen and seek to understand you are pushing help away.
Understand your life path so that you can live with meaning and direction. This is an important part of living a fulfilling and happy life because without knowing why we were put here on earth, our lives aren’t as meaningful as they could be.
Just like how having a plan helps us achieve our goals in business or in school; understanding our purpose gives us guidance when making decisions that affect us now and into the future.
Understanding your own personal values also allows others to better understand who you are as well which makes them more likely to trust and respect you which leads to greater success in all areas of life including career, relationship, business, and health.
Share with a friend or family, one thing you are grateful to God for. As a person of faith, you can have nourishment from the word of God, to help you understand the times, through great power and instinct within you.
